Pre-Quit Day 3: Mentally Preparing to Quit

Image
When we mentally prepare to do something the more it remains in our minds, the less we prepare to do something the more it remains in the back of our minds, out of sight out of mind. When I say this, I mean that when we don't prepare to quit mentally the more relapses that will be imminent. When we do prepare ourselves for the quit, the more we can control the urges when we are finally at our Date of quit. That's why it's important to Mentally Prepare yourselves to quit smoking. Pre-Quit Day 3: Mentally Preparing to Quit     How are you Mentally preparing to quit? and why is it important to you to be Mentally prepared? I'm Mentally preparing myself by writing these blog posts, cutting back on my smoking by 3 hours, writing in my journal, finding new things to do when I am bored at home, and I am trying to find the right support groups for myself. Pre-Quit Day 2: Taking this One Day at a Time

Image
Quitting smoking is like any other addiction. To quit and remain quiet, you need to take it slow. When I say taking things slow, I mean taking it one day at a time. You cannot rush rush it or you're going to end up back in a relapse. Take it from me, I rushed the process and I'm re-planning to quit smoking. This time, however, I'm going to take it one day at a time and work the good fight. I know that quitting is a slow process, and I'm finally ready to be at the finish line already. You see what I just said, that's called rushed thinking. I definitely need to slow it down a bit.     I've started to understand that rushed thinking brings us back to the starting point otherwise known as a relapse. I've been "drug-free" for 6 years now because I didn't rush it. I didn't rush the thinking process, and I've taken it one day at a time. The reason why I'm mentioning my past addiction is because, whatever worked the last time when I ...

Pre Quit Day 1: The Starting of my Smoke Free Life.

Image
Today's Pre-Quit Day Number One. I'm now working on the ultimate goal of quitting for good. Even though I haven't gotten my NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) by mail yet, I'm going to start working towards my quit date. You may be asking yourselves, but Deejaegh what have you done today to work towards becoming smoke-free? Well, I'll tell you what I've done today.  Pre-Quit Day 1: The Starting of my Smoke-Free Life.     I've been a smoker for years, and I am so ready to quit. It came to me as a shock, the last times I was apparently "ready" to quit for good, I wasn't mentally ready to quit. I've learned that you must be mentally, physically, and spiritually ready to quit a habit. In my case, to be able to quit smoking for good. In recent months, I became very embarrassed that I was a smoker, and my dog Tyberious from time to time steals my Cigarettes and chews them up (pack and all), and I know those two things are signs for me. To ...

Disclaimer:       Just a heads up all links provided are not my own. I'm only sharing the booklets and information from other supports, that can possibly help you quit smoking. I'm also not affiliated with these links, and resources that I will be providing you. My Journey to Quit Smoking for a Healthier Life!     Today, I want to start building my plan to quit smoking with you all. You're probably asking yourself why do you want to share your plan with us? To be honest with you, this is apart of my journey to quit smoking. We all need a valid plan to quit smoking, and I want to share my valid plan with you. Smoking is one of the hardest addictions to kick, and having a plan in place can help you quit effectively and it can also help you kick the habit for good. Especially, if you are consistent with your plan to quit smoking or other things.     Being inconsistent with a goal or a plan will end up in failure, so we must be consistent with our plans an...

I will be posting daily for the seeable future because I want this to be my diary, but an online diary. As I work to free myself from the addiction, which I'm no stranger to, I will be talking mostly about how I feel daily, and much much more. I've been trying to quit for over 5 years now and realized that nothing has worked. So let me just say this: I am ABSOLUTELY ready this time, and I would love for you to join me in my fight, so I don't have to do this alone.     I know many people like I've been trying to quit for a while, and I'm going to make quitting fun for myself and I want to share this with you. I think if I make quitting fun, I will definitely want to quit smoking. On top of this, I will be using 2 apps to quit during this time. One, I'm enrolled in a 10-week smoking Cessation program p...
